Palworld Leather Farming Guide

Are you looking for the best way to farm Leather in Palworld? I know, silly question – otherwise you wouldn’t be here. But you are at the right place as I am here to help you with everything related to leather farming in the game. Let’s get started!

How to Get Leather in Palworld

Leather is an essential resource in the game, and farming it effectively can make a huge difference when crafting or upgrading your gear. Here’s the short version of what you should do:

There are 31 Pals that drop Leather. To increase your yield, use the Hunting Knife or Rifle and do not hunt every single Pal but give them time to respawn.

Although apparently simple, the process is a tad more complicated. Let’s get more in-depth now – starting with the full list of Pals that drop Leather:

Here’s a list of the 31 Pals that drop Leather, along with their specific locations and best strategies for hunting them:

Killing or catching any of these Pals will award you with Leather, plus some type of Meat, depending on the Pal you’re hunting.

Pro Tip: Always check the Habitat Info section of each Pal’s menu to see exactly where they spawn. Save yourself time by hunting in zones where multiple Leather-dropping Pals are available.

Best Spots to Farm Leather

Searching for that perfect hunting spot…

To optimize your gathering and increase yields, the best Leather farming strategy involves using the Hunting Rifle or Hunting Knife weapons (which increase your yield). Also, these are the best areas for leather farming, depending on how advanced you are in the game:

Grassy Behemoth Hills: This area is by far the best for early-game Leather farming due to its abundance of Melpacas and Foxparks (daytime pals) and Direhowls (spawn at night). The respawn rates are quick, and it’s a safe area for low-level players. Aim to farm here until you’re strong enough to explore more dangerous zones.

Mossy Highlands: For mid-game players, this area offers high Leather yields with Mossanda and Mossanda Lux. The higher you level up, the better the Pals you can hunt here, especially during wet weather. The rain increases the spawn rate, making it an ideal time for farming.

Inferno Plains: This is a late-game farming area. The Pyrin and Pyrin Noct Pals drop high amounts of Leather but can be challenging due to their high damage output. If you’re well-equipped and have fire-resistant gear, this is a great spot for high-yield farming.

PRO TIP:

To make things even easier, bring along a strong Pal! Pals with higher attack power can speed up your hunting process, and some even have skills that increase resource drops. Pals like Incineram and Grizzbolt not only pack a punch but can also help you clear areas quickly, speeding up the process of leather farming.

Another key to efficiency is upgrading your melee or ranged weapon to increase damage output. The faster you take down Pals, the faster you can farm and move on to the next batch.

Advanced Tips for Hardcore Leather Farming

  • Time of Day Matters: Some Leather-dropping Pals, like Direhowl, only spawn at night. Make sure you know which Pals spawn when and plan your farming route accordingly.
  • Respawn Rates: Don’t clear out an entire area of Pals. Leave a few alive so they respawn faster. This keeps the farming loop tight and prevents wasted downtime.
  • Stack Buffs: Certain foods and potions in Palworld can increase your drop rate or improve hunting efficiency. Stock up before heading out to make every hunt count.
