Foamstars Tier List: Best Characters in the Game

While I am all about older games and retro gaming in general, a nice new game pops up and manages to draw my attention. Such a game is Foamstars, a fun and lighthearted shooter that feels very rewarding when you play it.

But I’m not here to praise the game – today, I want to try something new and share my Foamstars Tier List aka my attempt to rank the best characters in the game. This is a personal opinion, based on my own play style and yours might vary. (If that’s the case, I’d love for you to comment down below and tell me how you’d rank the characters and why).

But without further ado, let’s check out the best characters in Foamstars below, niftly arranged in a three-way tier list.

S-Tier Characters

These are the best characters in the game at the moment. I think that whichever you play, you will have great success. Here’s the quick list of the best of the best, then I’m going in-depth explaining why they’re here.

  • Penny Gwyn
  • Soa
  • Agito

Penny Gwyn

Penny Foamstars

Penny Gwyn uses a high-precision assault rifle to deliver consistent damage from a distance. She requires high precision but if your aim is accurate, you won’t lose with Penny. That’s a fact!

Her Penguin Squad and Toboggan Bomb abilities provide excellent zone control, and her Emperor March ultimate is devastating in crowded areas. She is amazing for each game mode and can deal with almost any enemy without issue.

At the moment, this is my #1 favorite in Foamstars.

And talking about my favorites – here’s my rant about Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and why I consider it the best game ever.

Soa

Soa Character in Foamstars

Soa is one of the best characters in Foamstars since she has a fairly easy-to-use kit, great escape and mobility tools, and amazing versatility as she is good in every mode and map, evenly balancing offence and defense.

While not perfect, especially due to her range, but also with a relatively strange ultimate, Gotta Crush, she remains one of my favorites.

Agito

agito character Foamstars

Agito is the main assassin in Foamstars that prioritizes mobility and high single-target damage. With a flanking playstyle, Agito can one-shot enemies easily, even though he doesn’t seem to be a favorite among other players. Still, trust me when I say this: invest some time playing him and mastering him and you’ll be surprised how good he really is!

Yes, he’s fairly challenging to master and has a very specific playstyle, but this doesn’t make him inherently bad.

A-Tier Characters

A-Tier characters are slightly weaker than S-Tier ones in the sense that they are more situational and won’t stand out in every single mode, but they are still great choices and can wreak havoc on the battlefield.

I currently rank two players in the A Tier:

Mel T

Mel T portrait

She excels with her long-distance, ice cream-shaped missiles that lock onto enemies, guaranteeing hits with high damage. Her abilities also focus on area coverage and damage dealing, so she’s a great choice in most cases.

Tonix

Tonix Portrait

Just like Agito above, Tonix is not easy to play, but if you manage to master her, you will have great success.

Since she’s mostly a sniper with a specific play style, she’s not really appreciated by others, but her performance can really get a boost if you play her right (aka get more time playing this character). Her turret and ultimate abilities are also really good.

B-Tier Characters

B-Tier characters are overall more challenging to learn and master but can shine if played by the right players in the right game modes… But overall, I don’t focus too much on playing these as there are better options out there.

The Baristador

The Baristador

This is a long-range support character, so not really top tier material, although really useful in specific cases. The Baristador excels in creating foam paths for quick navigation and setting up strategic plays, as well as defensive walls which can prove useful for the team though.

Rave Breaker

Rave Breaker portrait

Rave Breaker is a close-range specialist who excels in ambush tactics. His Home in the Foam ability allows for surprise attacks, while his Party‚Äôs Over ultimate clears large areas of enemies with a rolling foam attack. But there’s nothing to really make Rave Breaker shine…

Jet Justice

Last (and possibly least), we have Jet Justice, a character that appears well-rounded, with a shotgun and abilities that focus on displacing enemies and providing team shields. But not a character that shines and clearly not a favorite (or one of the best in the game).

Wrapping Up

There you have them – the best characters in Foastars, listed from the best one to the worst. Do you agree with my ranking, or you prefer a lower-ranked one to my top tier characters?

Share your thoughts in the comments down below and don’t forget – experiment with each character to see where YOU stand with them, as play style is very important on an individual player and you might still get more success with some characters that others don’t.

That’s my case with Meg in Brawl Stars (another game I started playing more and more of lately): although she’s basically hated by everybody, I really like her and play her a lot, grabbing A TON of wins with her. But this is a story for another article…
