ALL Farming Simulator Games in Order

I think nobody believed, back in 2008 when the first Farming Simulator game was launched, that it would have the success it had. It became a real franchise – often copied – and always amazing.

Today, I am here to talk about my favorite farming sim games and list, in chronological order, all the Farming Simulator titles created by GIANTS Software since the original back in 2008. Let’s begin!

Farming Simulator 2008

Release date: April 2008

The first game in the series. Although this game is difficult, if not impossible, to be played anymore (as it was released exclusively on PC DVD), it’s still the one that wrote history.

A full farming sim, but with only a few vehicles and crop options (and no animals). Humble beginnings, but it was enough to write history and turn this game into one of the most popular ever, being launched before FarmVille became the Facebook hit it was. (Speaking of the social media platform – here are some nostalgic Facebook games still worth playing).

Farming Simulator 2009

Release date: March 2009

Arriving one year after the first game, Farming Sim 2009 included many upgrades including new crops and modding support. It was also released on DVD only, but didn’t really offer much in terms of upgrades and new content.

Farming Simulator 2011

Farming Simulator 2011

Release date: October 2010

Farming Simulator 2011 is the first game in the series with multiplayer support. A new map was also added, plus some small quality-of-life upgrades. Animals were introduced in this version – although we’re only talking about cows.

Available on Steam.

Farming Simulator 2012

Farming Sim 2012

Release date: March 2012

Despite having the “2012” glued to it, Farming Sim 12 is the same as Farming Sim 11 but for Mobile devices (both iOS and Android, as well as Nintendo 3DS).

It was also called the “Casual Edition” and it was a good game, received well on mobile. Unfortunately, it is no longer available for download on either app store.

Farming Simulator 2013

Farming Simulator 2013

Release date: October, 2012

Another core game in the series, one that saw new additions, like new animals and new maps. A variety of QoL Updates and additions are also included.

I have to admit that this is the game I invested most time in (in the Farming Sim franchise). It was just… perfect for its time.

The game (Titanium Edition) is available on Steam and I highly recommend playing it.

Farming Simulator 14

Release date: November 2013

Similar to Farming Sim 12, this is a mobile version of the 2013 version of the game, but also available on other mobile consoles of the moment, like the 3DS, Kindle Fire, and PS Vita.

Farming Simulator 15

Farming Simulator 15

Release date: October, 2014

Initially released as a PC-exclusive, it eventually got a console version after a few months. Most notable here is the introduction of many forest-related activities and a big expansion of available vehicles, as well as a new map.

Farming Simulator 16

Farming Simulator 16

Release date: May, 2015

Although it was released as a brand new game in the series, it didn’t feature a lot in terms of new content, as it was basically the previous version, but for mobile devices.

At the moment of writing, the game is still available on both Android and iOS.

Farming Simulator 17

Farming Simulator 17

Release date: October, 2016

Available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, the game introduced plenty of new content, like a variety of new growable crops, as well as an overall improvement in farming mechanics to increase crop yield.

Two new standard maps were introduced, and they become instant favorites (Goldcrest Valley, Sosnovka).

The PC version is still available on Steam, but you can also find other versions in various stores.

Farming Simulator 18

Farming Simulator 18

Released: June, 2017

Following the trend of previous releases, this is the mobile version of the 2017 game. You can still download both the Android version, as well as the iOS one – and both for free.

Farming Simulator Nintendo Switch Edition

Released: November, 2017

This is the same variation as Farming Simulator 2017 and/or 2018, but on Nintendo Switch. It’s still available for download from the Nintendo Store.

Farming Simulator 19

Farming Simulator 19

Release date: November, 2018

Another main release in the series, available on PC and consoles. In Farming Simulator 2019, horse farming and riding, and new crops were added. Additionally, a wide variety of machinery was also introduced.

The 2019 edition of the game also brought a complete overhaul of the graphics engine, offering the best visuals to date. A really good game that remains playable and highly enjoyable today. My favorite, after the 2013 edition.

Farming Simulator 19 Commodore 64 Edition

farming simulator 19 commodore edition

Released in 2018

For some reason, GIANTS Software decided to launch a C64 version of their popular game. You can play it using an emulator on PC, or play it on PAL C64/C128 and/or PAL C64 Mini.

For true retro game fanatics like myself, this was a really pleasant surprise and a solid game overall with plenty of content and engaging gameplay.

The game can be purchased from the developer’s official website.

Farming Simulator 20

farming simulator 20

Release date: December, 2019

The mobile and Nintendo Switch version of the 2019 game, also introducing some new items.

Farming Simulator 22

Farming Simulator 22

Release date: November, 2021

With Farming Simulator 2022, the game finally added seasons, improved machinery controls, new crops, and multiple new vehicles and machines.

Also, this game received a major expansion in November 2023, with a new map and crops.

Farming Simulator 23

Release date: May, 2023

The mobile & Switch version of the previous year’s game.

Farming Simulator Kids

Farming Simulator Kids

Release date: March, 2024

Launched directly on mobile and Switch, Farming Simulator Kids focuses on making the game simple and easy to play, while also prioritizing educational content – so perfect for young children. Looks a lot like the Toca Boca games, if you have played them.

When is the Next Farming Simulator Game Coming?

As we can see above, GIANTS Software has managed to keep to a strict schedule since the first game was launched, so we can hope to receive a new game yearly – no matter if we’re talking about a brand new core game (for PC and consoles), or a mobile version of the former.

We have above the full list of the Farming Simulator games listed in chronological order. If a new game is launched before I get the chance to update this list, please let me know by commenting below or using the contact page on Social Games Help.
